>> perfect for running. >> you warm up quickly but you want to dress in layers as you head down to the marathon, especially if you're a spectator. look at the current temperatures right now. 40's across much of the city, 46 at the inner harbor, 42 at b.w.i. thurgood marshall. a few of you in the northwest suburbs may see your first frost this morning. as we look into the rest of the morning for the marathon, by 8:00 a.m., 45 degrees with sunny skies and winds will be light. that's different from last year. still sunny through the middle half of the race and temperatures around 59 by lunch time. dress in layers but you have the sun through this morning. we will talk about the seven-day when we return. >> the orioles' postseason run comes to an end with a tough

fifth game loss in new york. the team returned to baltimore around 1:00 a.m. 11 news was on the scene when waiting fans formed. and while the o's wanted nothing more than to move on to the next round of the postseason, it's hard to say the season was a disappointment, the team accomplished much more than expected. >> the orioles magical 2012 season came to an end last night, a 3-1 loss to the yankees last night in game five of the alds. the yankees had a true ace, c.c. sabathia, who dominated for the 3-1 victory but incredible memories for 96 wins this season and breathed life back into baseball in baltimore. >> it would have been awesome to get the alcs game at home but our fan base knows we gave it our all, we beat a lot of odds,

>> twitter has been overflowing with thoughts of support. giving manager buck showalter a shout-out -- meantime, the 11 news i-team follows the story of anastasia olouch, the woman accused of beating an elderly patient in her care. the incident was caught on tape but friday olouch pleaded not guilty. the victim's daughter set up a security camera in the home and turned the video over to police. fled to her native country of kenya. she was recently extradited back to baltimore and is set to stand trial in december. two men accused of orchestrating

a hit on a teenager outside of towson town center last year will spend the rest of their lives in prison. william ward iii and frank theodore williams received sentences friday. the two are members of an alleged black guerrilla gang. neither will receive the of parole. the accused trigger man in the case has not gone on trial. the big day in baltimore, the 12th annual under armour running festival. 11 news jennifer franciotti is live in west baltimore with a look at some of the last-minute preparations. how are things going down there? >> things are quiet this morning. we've seen a lot of cold people walking around. we are at the start line and let me tell you when i say it's cold, i feel like i dressed for patrol this morning. i'm wearing five layers of clothing. i have gloves on and soon you'll see me in a hat because it's chilly. as you mentioned, today is the

12th annual under armour baltimore running festival. 24,000 participants from 24 different countries and all 50 states. the kenyan runner, steven juang, will see if he can reclaim his title from last year. the top purses for the men's and women's marathon, $25,000. there are five different races today, not just the marathon. but there's the half marathon, the team relay. the team relay will start at the same time as the marathon. there's the 5-k and the kid's fun run. a lot of excitement in down the baltimore but for now it's me and the chickens getting ready for the big day. >> chickens in downtown baltimore, didn't know that? >> you know there's chickens around. >> thanks, jen. remember, wbal is your exclusive

>> good morning. we are starting you off with a live view of skycam. a lot of people will be filtering into the city to get ready for the baltimore running festival. it is 46 degrees at the inner harbor, only 42 at b.w.i.

marshall. wind out of the northeast at 6 miles per hour, adding to the chill. fortunately we are going to see a change in wind direction into the afternoon which may help things feel better. but let's look at the temperatures quickly, across the state. this is one of the colder morning so far this season. 34 degrees now up near the state line in parkton. you go towards the city, it's warmer in the 40's but north and west, there's a concern you could see frost. it may be the first frost of the season, even up towards the northeast. ecton at 34 degrees. 47 in paw tucksant river. we will keep an eye on temperatures out of concern for frost and a freeze. this is a concern to vegetation and crops still growing at this

point, a concern across the northern part of the state with the freeze warning out through 9:00 a.m. and from baltimore city south to anne arundel county and prince george's county, a concern of frost. if you're up and have plants outdoors, bring them inside or cover them up to protect them from the cold this morning. one of the reasons why we are able to see the frost this morning is the light wind. calm winds to our north in parkton, only 5 miles per hour downtown and at b.w.i. thurgood marshall. lighter the winds, the colder is gets and the easier it is for the frost form. that is making for a chilly start for the marathon this morning, for everyone heading to the baltimore running festival, we expect temperatures in the mid 40's for the start of the race. by 10:00 a.m., 52 degrees and lunch time, 59, still with a lot of sunshine. we start the day with light northeast winds, more variable the middle half of the race and towards the end turn

southeast. not as strong winds as last year's race. the runners will warm up more easily. the forecast today around baltimore, highs in the you were 50's to low 60's, a chilly day but we have sunshine and sun comes up at 7:15 this morning. clouds pushing in tonight, temperatures 42 to 50 degrees so not a concern of frost or freeze tonight. high pressure system in control behind the latest cold front, we will see clouds push in the rest of the weekend into monday. the next storm system comes in from the south but that's good news because a southerly
